CO2 Emissions Data Files for 2000-2006 for Electric Generating Units (EGUs) Subject to RGGI Program

This file contains CO2 emissions data for units that will be subject to the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) in the ten participating RGGI states. This file should contain CO2 data for all fossil fuel-fired electricity generating units (EGUs) with a nameplate capacity greater than 25 MW. For any RGGI units also subject to EPA’s Acid Rain Program (ARP), the CO2 data from that program was used. For non-ARP units, CO2 data was primarily derived from fuel consumption data in states’ annual emissions inventories, though other sources (EPA’s e-GRID and EIA-767) were also utilized for years 2000-2002.

EPA Clean Air Markets Division Data for Acid Rain Program Units (Data Query tool - 2000, 2001, 2002)
EIA-767 Data Files - Annual Steam-Electric Plant Operation and Design Data (2000, 2001, 2002)
e-GRID (Emissions & Generation Resource Integrated Database) (2000)
State Inventory fuel consumption data (when/where available)

Despite using several sources of data, data gaps may still exist and state staffs will be continuously updating their lists, as well as conducting ongoing quality assessment of the data. It is hoped that RGGI stakeholders and other interested parties will work with the state agency staff in their states to help refine these data files and to help review/contribute additional information as new data elements are added to the lists.
