RGGI Regional Organization Seeks Executive Director

Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, Inc. is seeking an Executive Director. The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is a ten state cooperative effort to implement a mandatory cap and trade program in the Northeast and Mid Atlantic addressing CO2 emissions from power plants. RGGI is the first mandatory market-based program to reduce carbon emissions in the U.S.

RGGI, Inc. is a new non-profit corporation intended to provide a forum for collective policy deliberation by RGGI Signatory States and to support individual action by the member States in matters related to implementation of the RGGI program. A primary role for RGGI, Inc. will be the provision of technical and administrative support services to the member States in implementing the RGGI program. RGGI, Inc. is projected to have a staff of five and a budget of approximately $1 million per year. The organization will be located in New York City.
