Clark Freise has served as the Assistant Commissioner of the NH Department of Environmental Services since October 2015. He works with the Commissioner and the staff of the Department to provide exceptional customer service in all of its programs while also addressing the new environmental challenges of a changing climate and transitioning to a clean energy economy, as well as ensuring long-term stewardship of the state's precious natural resources, especially its lands and waters.
Clark previously served in a number of senior executive roles in industry. Prior to industry, Clark served in the federal government as a Naval Officer, scientist and as a program manager.
Clark graduated from the United States Naval Academy and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution joint program with degrees in physical oceanography. He serves on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Robotics Engineering Board and is a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Corporate Member.
