Bonnie Heiple is an environmental and energy lawyer who practiced at the law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr (WilmerHale) for many years.  Her environmental work included developing best-in-class compliance systems related to a broad spectrum of state and federal requirements, and advising clients on ESG and other rapidly evolving issues. She also represented groups of companies that led the remediation of contaminated properties, including a number of sites that were subsequently repurposed to host renewable energy generation and storage facilities. Heiple’s energy practice focused on permitting of renewable energy generation, transmission, and storage projects across the nation. That work included interfacing with local, state, and federal regulators, coordinating with tribal governments and stakeholders, and defending key approvals in litigation. A graduate of Boston University School of Law and magna cum laude from Bucknell University, Heiple is active in the American Bar Association’s Section on Energy, Environment, and Resources, and serves on the Boards of the Women’s Bar Foundation, Women’s Energy Network, and American Lung Association.
